The Heat Continues

Happy Sunday, Bowling Green! I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend so far. Sunday looks to be another fair weather day to enjoy the pool, or hit the outdoors! However, like the past several days have been around here, the heat continues to finish off the weekend.

The Good, The Bad, and The Muggy

Yes, you guessed it. Along with the heat expected today, the high dew points will make it feel quite uncomfortable outside as values will be around 70 degrees yet again. This coupled with a high of around 90 will lead to an all too familiar story, hot, oppressive mugginess will continue.

Note the forecast model above. You’ll notice that many communities immediately to the north of WABBLES see relief in the form of lowered humidity. However, for Bowling Green proper, guidance suggests that the city itself will be just far enough south to likely remain oppressively humid.

Rain Chances Increase Tuesday

Monday appears to be a repeat of today’s weather for the most part; mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 90s area-wide. This changes late in the business day on Tuesday as the remnants of what is now Tropical Storm Cristobal passes the area to the west. This, in combination with an accompanying front, will increase chances for measurable rainfall Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Let’s Talk Cristobal

As of 4AM (CDT) Tropical Storm Cristobal has maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour, with a pressure reading of 993mb. It is moving due north at 12 miles per hour, and is expected to make landfall on the Louisiana coast later today.
