Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the new week. The past few days have given us quite the taste of summer! It felt like I’ve been wearing the air it’s been so thick. Thankfully, Tropical Depression Cristobal cools us off this week.
One More Hot Day
Cristobal made landfall yesterday evening in southeast Louisiana as a Tropical Storm with sustained winds around 50 mph. It will eventually come our way, but we’ll have to wait about a day.
Until then, we can expect another hot and humid day today. We’ll see partly cloudy skies with highs in the low 90’s! Definitely another wear-the-air kind of day.
We will see some relief come sunset as lows cool off into the mid 70’s. Clouds will increase overnight as Cristobal gets closer.
Cristobal Brings Some Showers
As we head into the day Tuesday, Cristobal will pass further to our west, but that doesn’t mean we won’t feel some effects. We can expect some showers and thunderstorms that will help cool us off.
Additionally, it will get pretty windy, also thanks to Cristobal. Winds around 20 mph, with higher gusts, are possible. Our high temperatures also won’t be as hot in the mid 80’s. Definitely some needed relief!
Even more relief comes on Wednesday. While the showers will have moved on by this timeframe, cooler air will filter in and cool our highs into the low 80’s. Dew points will be much cooler and more comfortable, too.
Despite a few clouds, we can expect the sun to return by Wednesday as well. Some beautiful weather in store!
Cooler Weather Sticks Around
Looking towards the end of the week, the cooler temperatures will stick around as we get some cooler air blow in from the northwest. A high pressure looks to take over as well, so we can expect the dry and sunny conditions to return, too.
That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Stay cool!
Thanks for a great update.
