Good April Fools morning, folks, and welcome to April 2020! We hope everyone is doing well and remaining socially distant! Skies began to clear out during the late afternoon hours yesterday, and now we will have a dry and sunny start to April.
We’ll Welcome Some Sunshine
High pressure will be building in over the Ohio River Valley region for the remainder of the week, but that’s nothing to complain about. Surely the sunshine will be a welcoming sight.
Winds will be out of the north today, but should remain rather calm. But with these north winds, temperatures will be slightly cooler than normal for April 1. Normal high temperature for April 1 is 65ºF, but we should remain around 58ºF.
Partly cloudy skies for the nighttime hours can be expected, but we remain quiet. Temperatures drop to around 39ºF overnight.
A Few More Clouds Mixed in For Thursday
Skies will be partly sunny for tomorrow as more clouds mix in for the daytime hours. While we will see more clouds, high pressure will still be overhead, helping to keep us dry.
Temperatures will top out around normal 65ºF, with winds calm and variable. Tomorrow should be another day to enjoy some outdoor social distancing.
By the evening hours, skies will remain mostly cloudy, along with light and variable winds. Those clouds should clear out for Friday. Temperatures will drop to a cool 44ºF during the overnight hours.
More Sunshine for Friday
More sunshine for Friday to close out the work week doesn’t sound too bad. High pressure by then will be moving off to the east, making way for our next weather system for Saturday.
But for Friday, we can expect to see more sunny skies and temperatures near the low 70s. Winds primarily out of the south will help bring those temperatures up a few more degrees than normal, but hey we can certainly appreciate sunny skies and 70ºs!
Clouds roll in ahead of the next weather system during the Friday night hours. Mostly cloudy skies and temperatures near 48ºF can be expected.
Rain Returns Saturday
Our next rain chances return on Saturday ahead of a cold front. There is still some model guidance disagreement, so confidence right now is low. Future wxornotBG posts will continue to analyze the details ahead for Saturday.
That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Wednesday! Make sure to look for the Afternoon Video Update on Facebook and the Afternoon Weather Story on Twitter, only at @wxornotBG.
