Bowling Green was lucky enough to pick up a couple of showers throughout the day Thursday. These didn’t amount to much, as the airport only picked up around a trace of rainfall. We’ll pick up more than that starting today, though, as rain chances are here for the weekend.
Frontal Passage Friday
Say hello, once again, to cooler air.
Moisture streamed into the area thanks to breezy southwest winds during the day yesterday and this cold front will squeeze out some of that moisture in the form on rain.
We’ll see a round of rain continue to move through the region, especially during the morning hours. This rainfall (along with the attendant cloud cover), along with breezy northerly winds will keep our high this afternoon only around 50º or so. Rain jackets are going to be the main fashion accessory.
We’ll stay dry to start the overnight, but we’ll keep the clouds around as an encore performance of showers comes in late. We’ll fall to a low near 45º.
Another Disturbance Means a Soggy Saturday
Another low pressure will be around the region to start the weekend proper, bringing another shot for a damp day.
A low pressure sliding by to the south will give us another shot at the wet stuff, especially early in the day.
We’ll gradually taper to scattered showers throughout the day, but the cloud cover along with gusty west winds (up to 20 mph) should keep us from getting too warm, only near 52º. We’ll dry out by late Saturday night, but we’ll stay breezy and get cold, lows near 30º.
Sunshine’s Back Sunday, But So’s the Cool Air
By Sunday, we’ve finally gotten the rain showers out of here…for the time being.
We’ll start out with westerly winds continuing to usher in that cool airmass. We’ll also see a few clouds dotting the skyscape. They shouldn’t block out the sun too much, though…but we still only end up around 50º. Another jacket or hoodie day.
We’ll keep things near freezing with scattered clouds overnight. Low right around 33º.
Nice Start, Soggy Finish to Thanksgiving Week
A quick glance into the future shows warming conditions as we head into Thanksgiving weekend.
Temperatures during the early part of the week will hover near 60º with sunshine. However, a storm system looks to bring us near daily chances of rain for the second half of the week, including Turkey Day itself. We’ll keep an eye on it as late week highs hover near 55º.
