Good morning and happy Monday, Folks!! We will be experiencing numerous showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, but with this rain comes a much-needed relief from the heat and humidity.

Monday’s Forecast
Before we get a break from the heat and humidity, Monday’s forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. I would recommend for you all to pack your umbrella or raincoat as you head out the door this morning as a slow-moving cold front moves through the Ohio River Valley. Widespread rain can be expected around the area as the cold front moves through the Bluegrass State.

The severe weather threat for Monday should be limited to a small chance of damaging winds. Localized flash flooding will also be a concern, especially if areas receive repeated rounds of heavy rain. Rainfall totals throughout the WABBLES region will range between 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts.

Showers and thunderstorms will end west to east during the evening and overnight hours. Temperatures around the area will drop down into the lower 60s with a nice breeze from the north, filtering in that cooler and drier air.

Tuesday & Wednesday
Waking up on Tuesday and stepping out the door… all I can say is that it will feel great outside! An area of high pressure will build into the area from the west and will bring with it cooler and sunny conditions.

Highs around the area on Tuesday will rise into the lower 80s with dew point temperatures in the upper 50s. The whole area will be under mostly sunny skies throughout the day.

It might be time to shut off the AC and open the windows during the overnight hours on Tuesday as temperatures around the area will drop into the upper 50s. Temperatures heading into Wednesday will rebound back into the low-to-mid 80s with sunny skies.
