One Last Day of Scorching Heat

Good morning, friends, and happy Wednesday! I hope your week has been off to a great start. Our Wednesday will entail one last day of scorching heat before a slight cool down to finish the week.

Hot Temperatures, A Few Possible Storms

Temperatures will once again be reaching the neighborhood of 92ºF, making for another toasty day for south central Kentucky. Strong winds will be out of the southwest, with gusts up to 25 mph. These winds will help surge temperatures and humidity, making it uncomfortable to be outside.

Additionally, our northern portion of the area is under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather today.

A few isolated showers and storms will be possible, but for Warren County and south, should stay dry. Any downpours will be isolated, so widespread rain measurements and impacts are not expected.

Overnight, a few hit or miss showers are possible, but expect mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop down to 70ºF, which will be quite refreshing compared to the high temperatures the past couple days.

More Showers and Storms Possible for Thursday

A cold front will be pushing into the area, which will bring additional showers and storms, and slightly cooler temperatures.

Expect high temperatures to reach around 85ºF, which is still warm, but at least it is not 90ºF! Winds again will be rather breezy, as gusts up to 25 mph out of the southwest will be possible.

A few showers and storms may linger around through the evening hours, but skies should quiet down by the overnight hours ( 1 AM or later). Nighttime temperatures will be a chilly, but refreshing 63º, which is quite the change from the temperatures we’ve been having.

Quiet Friday to Kick off Weekend

Friday should be much more quiet than the middle of the week. Mostly sunny skies will stick around, again with temperatures reaching the 82ºF. Remember the cold front being mentioned above? You can thank that for slightly cooler temperatures, with winds out of the northwest.

Time to enjoy the great outdoors. Temperatures will once again get a bit chilly, so any outdoor activities in the evening (5-8 PM) will be rather nice. By the overnight hours, temperatures will finally drop to 60ºF.
