Good Thursday morning, South-Central Kentucky! We’re almost to the weekend! If that isn’t enough good news, the heat has finally moved out too! Once we get rain chances out of the way, near-average temperatures will replace the scorching heat we have been seeing. A beautiful weekend is in the works!
Scattered Strong Storms Possible Today
Yesterday’s thunderstorms cooled us down significantly, and those cool temperatures will stick around today. Skies remain mostly cloudy for much of the morning before scattered thunderstorm chances return to our area this afternoon. There is a chance that some of those storms could go severe, so we’ll watch this afternoon closely.
Otherwise, temperatures will stick around in the comfortable low 80’s, which is near normal for this time of year. Lows for tonight will drop to around 60 degrees.
Clear Conditions Follow Exiting Cold Front
A weak cold front will pass through our area Friday bringing the opportunity for more scattered rain chances to end the work week. Most of these showers will pop up in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will hang out in the low 80’s and dew points will start to dry out, making it much more comfortable to be outside.
Lows will cool all the way to the upper 50’s and low 60’s as skies begin to clear.
Beautiful Weekend and Dry Start to Next Week
Saturday will be a beautiful day with sunny skies and temperatures in low-to-mid 80’s, so make sure to get out and make the most of it! Rain chances return Sunday, but temperatures will remain average, and comfortable, in the mid 80’s.
We stay dry as we head into next week, and temperatures will remain comfortable in the low 80 range. A well deserved week weather-wise after the heat we just went through!
