First Day of Spring, Rain Chances Arrive Tonight

Good morning, friends, and Happy First Day of Spring! I’m sure you’re just as excited as me to see winter officially depart. We’ve had a great week thus far, but a brief weather system will be passing through. For this first day of spring, rain chances arrive tonight.

Spring Has Sprung

Clouds are already visible this morning, and will be increasing this afternoon as our next weather system arrives.

A low pressure system to our north is dragging a cold front across our area this evening, bringing with it rain showers.

A few hit or miss showers will be possible from 7 PM to 10 PM, but widespread showers are expected to move in by 10 PM to 12 AM.  Luckily, only light to moderate rain showers will pass through, so rainfall totals will be around 0.10 inches.

High temperatures for today will reach the 60º – 64º range, with winds out of the southwest 10 to 15 mph, and gusts up to 20 mph. By tonight, winds will shift to be out of the west. Low temperatures will bottom out in the 40º – 43º range.

Showers Early, Clearing Later Thursday

Rain showers from tonight should carry over into the morning hours tomorrow. The NAM shows light rain showers ending during the mid to late morning hours.

After the rain showers move out, clouds should stick around until the afternoon/evening hours. Winds will have shifted to be out of the northwest, so temperatures will only reach the neighborhood of 50º – 53º, much cooler than today. Tomorrow night will be mostly clear skies, with temperatures around 34º – 37º.

Beautiful Sunshine Will Return

The start of the weekend is looking to be gorgeous once again. Sunny, clear skies will be the story as a high pressure system works into the area.

Friday Forecast: Sunny skies will be back. Due to the location of the high pressure, winds will predominately be out of the northwest again between 10-15 mph. Highs should be around 55º – 58º. Lows will tank to 29º – 33º.

Saturday Forecast: More sunshine for the weekend, as Saturday is nearly identical to Friday. High temperatures should reach 53º – 57º. Low temperatures will be a bit warmer however, in the range of 35º – 38º. Skies overnight will be partly cloudy.
