Howdy, friends! Even though it’s March, it sure doesn’t feel like spring. Rain should move in at the end of the work week, but for now high pressure continues to keep skies clear.
Sunny Wednesday
High pressure continues to dominate our region, keeping temperatures cool and skies clear. But hey, at least it is dry and sunny!
Temperatures during the morning commute will be in the low 20s, with wind chills in the teens. By lunchtime, temperatures will be around 30, and eventually reach a high in the upper 30s by the 2-4pm timeframe. Winds will remain out of the west 5-10 mph. After the sun sets tonight, temperatures will dip into the mid 20s, with clouds increasing.
Last Day of Dry on Thursday, Rain Chances Late PM
Tomorrow will bring partly sunny skies ahead of our next weather maker, but the rain will hold off until late Thursday night.
Winds will be out of the southeast 5-10 mph, which will help temperatures in the afternoon reach the upper 40s. Light and scattered rain looks to arrive in western Kentucky around 9 PM, and into the wxornotBG region by 11 PM – 12 AM.
Rain showers will be very light, and measurable rainfall won’t occur until the morning commute. Temperatures will drop to the mid 30s, so all precipitation will remain liquid.
Rain Chances for Friday too
Rain will continue from late Thursday night into Friday. Light rain will persist into the afternoon hours. The GFS predicts rain exiting by 6 PM, but some showers could linger later.
High temperatures will reach the low 50s, and the low temperatures will drop to the mid 40s.
Soggy Saturday
The middle of the weekend will have widespread showers and the possibility of some stronger thunderstorms.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Day-4 Risk that includes our region, and we will definitely keep an eye on this event.
Temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid 60s. Widespread rain will begin during the morning hours, and thunderstorms will arrive by the later afternoon.
That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Wednesday and rest of the week! Make sure to look for the Afternoon Video Update on Facebook and the Afternoon Weather Story on Twitter/Instagram, only on @wxornotBG.
