Good Tuesday morning, Kentucky! We are off to a nippy start with temperatures in the teens. Things won’t warm up too much as we dive into this chilly week ahead. Luckily, rain will hold off until Thursday night. Even though it’s going to be cold, at least we’ll be dry!
Shiver Worthy With Plenty Of Sunshine
Temperatures will struggle to reach above freezing today with highs only expected in the low-30s. Northwest winds will help funnel chilly Arctic air into our area and keep our high temperature rather low. You can expect plenty of sunshine and no rain!
The overnight low will drop to the teens and with a steady breeze out of the northwest, wind chills could drop into or close to the single digits.
Not Much Warmer On Wednesday
Temperatures on Wednesday will attempt to be warmer than what they will be today but it won’t be by much. The high will reach into the mid-30s and winds will remain out of the northwest for much of the day. Sunny skies will stick around until mid-afternoon when cloud cover will start to increase. Precipitation will not be a concern and the overnight low will drop to the mid-20s.
Better On Thursday
We will warm up a little bit on Thursday with highs in the upper-40s thanks to a wind shift to the southwest. Cloud cover will increase throughout the day as low pressure moves into the area. Rain chances will start close to midnight and carry us into Friday with the overnight low dropping to the upper-30s.
End Of the Week/Weekend Outlook
Rain will continue throughout Friday and most of the weekend but with much more enjoyable temperatures. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will see highs in the low-60s with rather gusty winds. By the end of the weekend, we are looking at another inch of accumulated rainfall. We’ll keep you updated on rain totals as the weekend gets closer.
