Good morning folks! I hope everyone has had a great start to the weekend, and is looking forward to a nice Sunday. After a wild weather week last week, a quiet Thanksgiving week is in store.
Sunshine on Sunday
Honestly, your Sunday is looking pretty dag on nice.
A weak low pressure system is looking to pass through the region ahead of our next weather maker for Monday. Associated with this will be south southwesterly winds to help warm us up.
Expect highs today to reach the upper 50s and lower 60s out there. Clouds will make there way in and out of the region today, but expect partly sunny skies to be the general sky situation.
Honestly, just a really nice day. You can expect several of those coming up this week.
Gloomy Monday
A weak surface low looks to develop along a cold front that extends from the northeast into the Ohio Valley. This is in association with a weak mid level disturbance moving through the region.
Plentiful cloud cover will be present across the region as we prepare for the short work week. Light rain showers are expected throughout the day on Monday, so you will want to grab the umbrella and send the kids to school in a rain jacket.
Otherwise, Monday just simply looks gloomy. The front will pass with the weak low, and will help usher in a much cooler air mass for Tuesday and Wednesday. Before that, highs are expect to be in the lower 50s.
It certainly won’t be a washout, but intermittent showers can be expected through the day.
Cold Returns for Tuesday
Behind this weak low/cold front will be a much colder air mass moving into the region for Tuesday.
Clouds may clear by Tuesday morning, but don’t expect that to last. Very cold air in the lower atmosphere will favor widespread cumulus cloud development during the afternoon hours.
Highs on Tuesday will be lucky to make it out of the mid 40s, so be sure to bundle up as you head out. Luckily, it is still warmer than some of the weather we saw last week!
Calm Weather Settles in for Turkey Day
Behind all of this, sunshine finally will make its return for Wednesday, as will a nice warming trend.
The surface high that is bringing us the cold air on Tuesday will begin to progress out of the region on Wednesday, and warmer air will return with westerly and southerly flow.
Highs on Wednesday should be in the mid 50s, and in the upper 50s and maybe lower 60s for Thursday! Thanksgiving is looking wonderful.
Well, that is all I have folks! Have a wonderful day, and a fantastic Thanksgiving week! Be sure to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter and Facebook for the latest information.
