It has been a frigid, soggy, breezy and overall brutal weather week so far…but as we head into the future, we’ve got quite the turnaround coming. As we start the day on Friday, we’ll be drying off and warming up into the weekend.
Rising Thermometers on Friday
Yes, after a couple of days with temperatures not getting too far off from 30º, it’s going to be nice to get the sun out and those temps at least somewhat closer to comfortable.
High pressure and dryer air begin to work in this afternoon and that means skies will clear throughout the morning hours and give us a high near the 50º mark for this afternoon.
The only downside is that with clear skies comes the possibility for quite the chilly overnight, with lows tonight settling to around 30º.
Good Time Roll Into Saturday
We keep the great conditions coming to officially kickoff the weekend.
We’ve got some semblance of high pressure parked over the region today and that means more sunshine as well as keeping those temperatures out of the “frigid” category.
Highs should top out right about 55º during the day on Saturday. Clouds increase overnight as we dip to a low right around 41º. Should be a good evening to head out to WKU Football senior night tomorrow night as well, just keep the jacket handy.
Much the Same Sunday, With a Twist
Another fairly acceptable day on hand to finish off the weekend as we’ll keep partly sunny skies overhead for at least the daylight part of the day.
With the exception of increasing cloud cover, it’s going to be another day quite similar to Saturday. Highs will top out right about 55º. It’s overnight, however, when things begin to change.
As it scoots close Sunday night, we could see some showers break out around the region. Temperatures should stay above freezing, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see a few flakes flying as well. Road conditions should remain fine but, as always, exercise at least a little bit of caution on those elevated bridges and overpasses. Lows fall to around 34º.
