Good morning, Kentucky! The first Tuesday of September is shaping up to be another hot and muggy day. As much as I would love for Fall to be here already, it unfortunately is not. We will have clear conditions today but thunderstorm chances will return by tomorrow.

The high for today will max-out in the low-90s with dew points in the low-70s. There is a cold front approaching from the west but it will not impact us until tomorrow. Today will bring southeast winds and minimal precipitation chances thanks to that high pressure system that is making its way eastward and out of our area. This will be our last clear day before thunderstorm chances come back into the forecast by tomorrow. The low will dip to the low-70s.

Wednesday

Tomorrow will be slightly cooler than today with highs only expected to reach the mid-upper-80s. The winds will be out of the southwest, which will draw in moisture from the Gulf and Tropical Storm Gordon. The dew point will be in the low-70s again. The greatest chance for a pop-up thunderstorm will be during the afternoon once things get heated up. The low will drop to the low-70s.

Thursday

Thursday will be pretty similar to tomorrow but with slightly greater precipitation chances. The high will reach the mid-high-80s with dew points in the low-70s. There is about a 30% chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Rain chances will appear again on Friday as well. The low for Thursday will drop to the low-70s.
