Tropical Showers and Heat Continue into Weekend

Hey folks, expect isolated afternoon storms with highs in the toasty low 90’s to dominate the next several days making tropical showers and heat continue into weekend.

Tropical Influences Cause Scattered Showers and Storms Today

Tropical Storm Gordon or its remnant moisture ghost will direct hot, humid air up from the south into our region. h/t WPC

With all the moisture and warmth, look for scattered showers and storms to form this afternoon across our region.  Storms that pop up will move from south to north and not be severe while highs reach the low 90’s.

It will feel like the upper 90’s this afternoon so stay cool and hydrated.

Heat and Humidity Continue Tomorrow and Friday

The very real moisture ghost of Tropical Storm Gordon continues but the heaviest rain will be off to our west. h/t tenor

Tomorrow another mid-summer “cold” front will crawl closer to our region while combining with the ghost of TS Gordon.  This will keep isolated storms and highs in the low 90’s in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday.

In this tropical weather, the lows will only be reaching the low 70’s, so don’t look for much heat relief at night.  h/t tenor

Scattered Showers Expected this Weekend

1-2 inches of rain is expected this weekend with a corridor of heavier rain to our north. h/t pivotalwx GFS

Under the slow moving cold front, scattered showers are expected for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid-80’s.  At this point, the weekend does not look like a complete wash-out, but I would bring the rain gear and umbrella if heading out to the Cage the Elephant concert or WKU football game this weekend.
