Good Friday morning, everyone! Hope everyone has had a fantastic week, and is ready for the weekend to be here. I know I am! We have had some amazing weather, and we’re looking at one more semi-nice day before summer returns.
Fine Friday
That pretty much sums up the weather for Friday. I don’t think it’ll be as great as Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday’s weather, but it will be just fine.
A weakening mid level low pressure system will be moving to the north of our region throughout the day on Friday. Partly sunny skies are expected for the wake up and commute on Friday morning, with clouds increasing in the afternoon.
This will be ahead of some rain that looks to develop to our north. Models indicate that this may make a run at our region Friday afternoon and evening, but I think only isolated showers are likely.
Given this, highs on Friday afternoon are only expected to be in the mid 80s (85ºF-86ºF). Southwesterly winds will contribute to this, but not significantly.
Summer Returns for the Weekend
After this brief run at rainfall Friday evening, we are staring a nice warm up right in the face.
The trough that should bring the clouds and isolated showers this afternoon will lift northward into Canada, and a nice ridge of high pressure will begin to build into the region Saturday and Sunday.
This will result in an unfortunate return to summertime. After a taste of fall on Thursday morning (lows were in the upper 50s!), summer steals my joy and comes right back.
Yes, that does mean an increase in humidity as well. By Sunday afternoon, we’re expecting a full return to dewpoints in the lower 70s.
Highs both days will approach the lower 90s (highs 89ºF-92ºF), and partly cloudy skies are expected. Look out for an isolated storm or two, as well. Like I said, a return to summer.
Heat to Last Through Next Week
Yep, this isn’t great! But it is just the bleh summer reality that we live in. If you like the pool, then this forecast is for you! I prefer Autumn temperatures, though.
The ridge will shift a bit to our south over the coming days, but it’ll still exert its force on us. Highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s with scattered storm chances will be the rinse and repeat forecast.
Oh well. We will get through it! After all, a little less than a month of summer remains!
Well, that is all I have folks! Have a wonderful Friday (and weekend), and be sure to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter and Facebook for the latest info!
