A Typical Summertime Pattern Returns

Yesterday was a wonderful day but alas, we’re in well into summer the summer months now and that means no avoiding the muggies. After a day of sunshine and lower humidity, a typical summertime pattern returns.

Storm Chances Return Sunday

Settling back into quite the repetitive pattern as we finish this weekend off.

High pressure that was in control yesterday is starting to slide off to the east and this will give us southwesterly winds, allowing the heat and humidity to return with highs around 85º this afternoon. Heat indices will likely stay between 90-95º.

NAM hints at some pop-up storms this evening. (Pivotal Weather)

Another side effect of the high pressure moving away is that with the increased moisture in the atmosphere, we can’t rule out a few scattered showers and storms this afternoon. Not a huge coverage but if you get under one, it’ll definitely cool you down. At night, once we get these storms out of here, we’ll only fall to about 70º.

Things won’t be too much different from today, except temperatures will be just a touch higher with those southerly winds kicking in full-force. Temperatures will top out around 90º with heat indices creeping closer to 95º. Another thing climbing will be rain chances, as we’ve got a slightly better shot at showers and thunderstorms thanks to an upper disturbance pivoting through.

Rinse and repeat. (Pivotal Weather)

Nothing too strong but anything that does pop will be capable of torrential downpours and maybe some brief gusty winds. We’ll keep a slight chance of a late night storm as we drop back to around 70º.

Remember these? I mean, I don’t; I was born in the late 90s, I’m lucky I remember VHS tapes. (Giphy)

Another day, another disturbance pivoting through the area interrupting the partly cloudy and hazy afternoon skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

The NAM’s even trying to suggest showers in the area by late morning. (Pivotal Weather)

Around a muggy 90º again for a high as scattered thunderstorms blossom in the afternoon. Heavy rain and gusty winds again the main theme. Nighttime, we only fall back to around 70º as a weak front tries to make a run at the area late Tuesday and into Wednesday, keeping rain chances a theme into midweek.
