Temporary Heat Relief Before Summer Returns

I’ve got fantastic news for you: We’re getting a break from the oppressive heat and humidity this weekend! I also have some less fantastic news for you: summer will be making a comeback. Don’t be sad though, today will feature temporary heat relief before summer returns.

A Joy of A Saturday

Canadian high pressure is back in business and that can only mean one thing: great weather!

The cold fronts of yesterday have gone and shifted our winds out of the northwest and that is ushering more comfortable temperatures along with lower humidity and I am ready for it.

This morning’s forecast surface map. (WPC)

Skies will be mostly sunny and our temperatures will be topping out right around 85º with much more comfortable levels of humidity. As close to a perfect summer day as you can get in July! Overnight, with the lower humidity, lows fall into the upper 60s.

Summer’s Back For Sunday

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. High pressure will begin scooting off to the east by tomorrow and this will open the door for winds to start coming out of the southwest again and heating us up.

Unfortunately, with the increase in heat and humidity will come an increase in storm chances once again. It will be a typical summertime pattern as popup showers and thunderstorms will become a daily occurrence as temperatures approach the 90º mark again. At night, partly cloudy skies will allow temperatures to only fall back to around 70º.

Another Summer Monday

Not a whole lot of change in the forecast as we begin the workweek.

More of the same heat and humidity will dominate the forecast as we head towards the beginning of the work week, with muggy temperatures near 90º likely not just Monday but into the midweek as well. And with the humidity in place, we’ll look at another daily chance of pop up showers and thunderstorms. Ho hum.

That just about does it for me! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotbg for the latest. Have a terrific Saturday…get out there and enjoy it!
