Good morning and happy (late) mother’s day to all of the moms out there. Yesterday was a beautiful day to celebrate all the beautiful moms.

Looks like the summer-like weather will continue into this week. It’s going to be hot, sunny with a chance of rain mid-week. Hot temperatures are expected for the first few days then a chance for thunderstorms increases as Wednesday approaches.

Monday

Today’s surface map shows high pressure over our region. The high-pressure system’s clockwise winds are bringing warmth from the South. The high temperature is expected to hit in the low-90’s. No breeze to cool us off today, make sure to have water handy at all times and keep hydrated. Tonight will cool to the low-70s with calm winds throughout the night.

Tuesday

Not much of a difference for Tuesday; a high temperature in the low-90s and calm winds. There will be a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Tomorrow night’s winds will shift west and thunderstorm chances will increase. The low for the night will be in the high-60s.

The low-pressure system located over the Gulf of Mexico will be working its way North. Its slow path will create rain chances all 0ver the Southwest portion of the United States.

Wednesday

Wednesday is going to continue the summer-like trend with temperatures expected to hit the mid-80s. Thunderstorm chances will remain throughout the day and clouds will partly cover the sky. Be aware of rain all day, it may be in and out so have that rain jacket handy. Or, better yet, cool off with the rain.

Rest of the Week

The rest of our week is full of thunderstorm and rain chances. For the most part, it will be hot, sunny with a chance of rain mid-week. Take advantage of this dry weather while you can, it does not look like it is going to last long. Make sure to keep hydrated while starting your week, it is going to get hot. Enjoy the calm and warm nights, have a cookout or a bonfire before the rain hits.
