Soggy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! Unfortunately it will be quite the soggy one. We’re currently waking up to mild temperatures in the mid 50s with rain to the southwest, moving this way.

On and off rain showers will continue throughout the day. Afternoon highs will still rise into the low 60s thanks to southerly winds around 10 to 15 mph.

Light showers may continue overnight as lows look to remain steady and in the low 60s.

Warm Thursday

A very warm Thursday is shaping up. We’ll be dealing with a few morning showers, but the afternoon is beginning to look dry. Southerly winds will crank up to 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. This will lead to afternoon temperatures in the mid 70s!

A cold front will approach the region Thursday night. This will lead to some showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder early Friday morning. Lows will drop into the low 50s.

Wet Friday

After the initial band of heavy showers or storms move through the region around 7 AM Friday, a soaking rain is expected for the remainder of the day. Northwest flow will limit highs into the upper 50s, and that may be on the generous side of things.

Temperatures tumble Friday night as we get a break from the rain. We should drop all the way to the freezing mark, which could create a few slick spots on elevated surfaces such as decks, bridges, and overpasses. Overall, around 1″ of rain is forecast between now and Friday evening, which could lead to more flooding problems at Drake’s Creek.
