First Look: Western Kentucky vs Ball State Football Game

While the Tops are busy getting ready for the game against Ball State on Saturday, we’re busy getting the forecast ready…

The upper level pattern looks to be favorable for some great weather on Saturday. An upper level ridge will be in place across the eastern United States, while a trough remains well to the west of the area.

The upper level ridging will translate to a broad area of surface high pressure across the eastern United States. This means conditions will likely be hot, but dry.

A moist air mass will be in place as dew point temperatures remain in the upper 60s. Thus, the only concern with the forecast will be very isolated showers or thunderstorms, similar to what we’ve seen the past couple of days. We’ll be watching the radar just in case.

Tailgate conditions will also be quite toasty. As afternoon temperatures top out around 88°, with dew points in the upper 60s, it will make it feel more like the low to mid 90s, so be sure to stay hydrated…with water.

With this early forecast, I’m expecting a kick-off temperature around 81° with a 5 mph wind out of the east. Temperatures should cool off to around 74° by the end of the game.
