There are areas of patchy fog out there once again this morning, so be sure to watch for that during the morning commute.

A few isolated afternoon showers and storms will be possible today as the remnants of Harvey begin to move in our direction. Again, these should be few and far between. Mostly cloudy skies should allow for an afternoon high of only 84°.

A better chance of rain is forecast late tonight and into Thursday morning. Current thinking is that a band of rain will move in around 3 AM. Lows will be around 67°.

Showers and storms will be likely throughout the day on Thursday. Generally, expect mostly showers in the morning with a lull in activity between Noon and 4 PM. Highs will top out around 77°

After 4 PM heavy rain will once again settle into the region. A few storms will be possible on Thursday evening. Damaging wind and isolated tornadoes will be possible with these storms, as well as heavy rain. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our region in a “marginal” risk for severe weather. Think of this as a level 1 out of 5 threat.

The heaviest rainfall is expected overnight on Thursday night and into Friday. Several inches of rain may fall on Thursday night, leading to a few flooding concerns. Lows will be around 70°.

Friday – Showers & Storms – High 70° / Fri Night – Showers Likely – Low 55°

Heavy rain will continue on Friday as the center of Harvey tracks right over the region. This will also lead to windy conditions as winds from the northwest could gust as high as 30 mph.

Generally, an additional 1-2″ of rain will be possible on Friday. This will give us a total precipitation amount of 6+” from the remnants of Harvey. Fortunately local river levels are fairly low at this time, thus the flooding risk is not as high as it can be.

Showers and a few storms will be possible on Friday evening and overnight, however rain should begin to taper off late overnight. Lows will drop well into the mid to upper 50s.
