The Rest of the Week Looks Pretty “Meh”

The Headline

The main headline over the next few days will be the daily threat for showers and storms that we look to see. We are in a pattern that favors cloudiness, and will be favorable for us to see storms, especially Thursday afternoon and night.

In addition to that, Harvey’s remnants look to approach the region by late Thursday night, which adds a new dimension to this forecast all together.

So, before all of that, we are dealing with rain and fog this morning! We may actually see the fog last for a bit this morning, as the highest resolution model doesn’t show us warming up enough to dissipate the fog for a little while.

Keep that in mind as you commute this morning. In addition to this, rain showers are present across the region, especially to the north and west of BG. These are moving eastward, and should impact BG and points northward this morning.

After this, anticipate partly to mostly cloudy skies the rest of the day, with isolated showers again possible this afternoon. Highs shouldn’t exceed the mid 80s.

Tomorrow looks pretty odd. We are likely looking at a day dominated by thick high clouds, with afternoon showers and storms possible as well. The high clouds will be in association with Harvey as its moisture streams northward.

Highs should be hampered a bit by these clouds, so expect highs in the lower 80s. By Thursday, Harvey’s remnants should be on a path towards us.

This will have plenty of moisture to work with, offering the possibility of heavier rainfall by Thursday night. Thursday afternoon, also, looks to have some good precip.

Basically, rainfall looks likely Thursday and into Thursday night. I don’t think temps will get above 80, either.

After this, Harvey’s remnants hang around on Friday and bring rainfall to the region.

The Forecast

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy, with showers this morning. Highs around 81°F. Overnight, look for mostly cloudy skies, with lows around 66°F.

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy skies, with showers and storms possible in the afternoon. Highs around 83°F. Overnight, look for mostly cloudy skies, with lows around 68°F.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with showers and storms likely. Highs around 79°F. Overnight, look for rainfall. Lows around 68°F.

The Decisions

You should have an umbrella with you all week, basically. I would send the kids to school with rain jackets, as well, this morning. We probably will have some rain to deal with this morning, but it won’t be too crazy.

I can assure you, the rain won’t be like this. h/t giphy

The rest of the week, though? We are looking at daily rain chances. I think the umbrella/rain jacket will be especially useful Thursday evening and Friday. Keep in mind that evening activities that are outside will likely be impacted.
