Hot Bowling Green Weather Continues

Today – Mostly Sunny – High 93° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 75°

Areas of patchy fog will be possible early this morning. Fog is visible as of 5:30 AM via the White Squirrel Weather NestCam, especially in the fields just outside of Bowling Green. Expect the fog to dissipate as the sun rises this morning.

Mostly sunny skies should lead to high temperatures around 93°. However, given the moisture content temperatures will feel more like 100°+ this afternoon.

There’s also a very small chance of an isolated shower this afternoon. Morning runs of the HRRR Model indicate very isolated showers may be possible and seeing as the same thing happened yesterday, I think it’s best to mention the possibility.

Partly cloudy conditions can be expected overnight as a few clouds may enter the region due to storms to the north. Lows will drop to the mid 70s.

Thursday – Partly Cloudy – High 94° / Thur Night – Mostly Clear – Low 75°

A ridge of high pressure will expand across the region. This will result in subtle height rises, leading to a bit more heat. Partly cloudy skies can be expected due to the high moisture content of the atmosphere. Highs will likely be around one degree warmer than Wednesday. Once again, this will feel disgusting and more like 100°+.

Mostly clear skies can be expected overnight. Lows will drop to the mid 70s once again.

Friday – Mostly Sunny; Hot – High 95° / Fri Night – Mostly Clear – Low 76°

Expect the hottest conditions of the year to be on Friday. The dome of the ridge will be centered across the region, leading to hot conditions. Mostly sunny skies can be expected as highs warm to the mid 90s. This will be around 5° above normal for this time of year. Heat indexes may eclipse the 105° mark, which is downright gross.

Mostly clear skies will be likely overnight, lows will once again remain in the mid 70s.

What Does This Mean For You

The main takeaways from this forecast is that it’s going to be hot. The temperature should increase a tad every day. This means you might need to limit your outdoor activities. This will be especially true on Friday as the heat index may eclipse 105°. This is where it could be noted that the KHSAA mandates the outdoor activities be suspended if a heat index above 104° is recorded. Regardless, water breaks every 30 minutes should be a good rule of thumb for those outdoors.
