Stormy Weather Now -> Better Weekend

Today – Strong Storms Possible – High 84° / Tonight – Storms Likely – Low 73°

A bit foggy this morning as low pressure continues to hang around for today. This will lead to continued unsettled weather across the region. Storms are already to the west of the region and working in this direction. A few storms may strengthen before they get here, leading to strong to severe thunderstorms possible. Damaging wind and heavy rain is the main threat. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our region in a marginal threat for severe weather.

Thursday – Scattered Storms – High 82° / Thur Night – Showers Likely – Low 70°

Low pressure will once again remain fixed over the region on Thursday. This will once again lead to scattered storms in the morning hours and another round in the afternoon. Severe weather is once again possible in the form of isolated damaging wind. The Storm Prediction Center has placed areas along and east of I-65 in a marginal risk of severe weather.

According to the hi-res NAM scattered storms will form right over the region during the afternoon. Storms will then move east in a line along the cold front. Highs before all of the storms will top out in the low 80s. Showers will continue overnight with lows dropping to around 70°.

Friday – Partly Cloudy – High 88° / Fri Night – Showers and Storms – Low 70°

Conditions will be much more stable on Friday. The low pressure will have moved off to the east, leaving us with partly cloudy skies during the afternoon. Highs will rebound into the upper 80s before northwest flow aloft can become better established. An embedded shortwave may lead to evening showers and storms, but overall Friday looks to be the best day for outdoor activities.
