The Summertime Heat and Humidity is Coming

Welcome to the weekend, folks! It is looking like another sunny one, so get excited!

This forecast post isn’t gonna be very long, because there truly just isn’t anything to talk about weather wise. This is as simple a forecast as I can remember having, so I am gonna sit back and enjoy it!

The predominant pattern looks to be driven by a strong ridge that is centered to our west, and is moving eastward. As this occurs, surface winds will shift from the south, and this should gradually transport much more moisture rich air into the region over the next few days.

Underneath the ridge, temps are looking to get hot. As in 90s hot. As in, you’ll-go-outside-and-immediately-start-sweating hot. As in…you get the point. It is about to get hot and humid and just plain muggy. Just look at these gifs.

That is about to be how it is outside. Today really begins a stretch of weather that we haven’t had this summer: hot and downright humid. Dewpoints look to jump to around 60 today, but tomorrow and Monday look to have dewpoints in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Just horrible. Expect mid to upper 80s today, with upper 80s and lower 90s tomorrow and Monday.

Also: if you have outdoor plans, please be sure to take plenty of breaks, and drink lots of water. It is easy to forget about staying hydrated, but that is key when it looks to be as hot and humid as it does the next few days.
