Stormy Weather Gives Way to Cool and Dry Conditions

Discussion

Well, folks, it is a good day. It is Sunday, the weather is nice and the Preds won last night!

The series is now 2-1 Penguins, with the next game on Monday night in Nashville. There is your daily dose of Preds if you didn’t already know! This forecast is fairly simple, but will include some storms today and early tomorrow.

That isn’t bad (for me, at least), as we need to consistently be getting rainfall through the summer. These won’t be too strong, but will have the threat of lightning and heavy rainfall associated with them. They are being forced by a weak stationary boundary that is moving northward. We currently have some to our south, which spells a bad scenario if you were hoping for some sunshine and then storms.

The HRRR model is showing lots of storms firing up this afternoon. h/t pivotalweather.com

These should move northward and produce more storms as they die off this afternoon. I don’t expect today to be a washout by any means, but expect storms to be pretty widespread by this afternoon. Highs should only get up into the lower 80s.

Monday is when the forecast begins to get interesting, and frankly, nice. A mid-level low pressure looks to close and begin to slowly move southward across the eastern US on Monday. Before I get too far into that, expect some left over showers/weak thunderstorms Monday morning as the cold front moves through.

Yeah, I’m not feeling the rain either. h/t giphy.com

This will begin to usher in air influenced by that mid-level low, which could be a significant part of our weather this week. Anticipate highs only reaching the upper 70s to around 80 on Monday.

By Tuesday, I think the mid-level low will have its way with out weather. We’ll see partly cloudy skies in the afternoon, and northerly flow. I wouldn’t be surprised to see scattered showers, but we’ll see on that one.

At the very least, Tuesday looks fantastic temperature wise. Anticipate upper 70s for highs.
