Hey, folks! I am back from chasing storms, and am ready to rock the forecasts again! I will have the final two journals in from the trip this afternoon, so be on the lookout for those!

The pattern over the next few days looks fairly simple, and looks to bring us some opportunities at seeing more isolated storms across the region. I do know that we have had a lot of rain over the last week, so hopefully we can avoid big storms this week.

We are likely to be situated on the western side of a high pressure system for the next few days, which will keep our temperatures really nice, but will help to supply some moisture that storms need. In addition to this, it looks like weak disturbances in the atmosphere will move through, and be the spark for isolated storms in the afternoon and evening.

Look for highs to get up into the low and mid 80s this afternoon before storms fire up, but those temps shouldn’t feel too terribly bad. And it shouldn’t be a wash out by any means; we are just looking at some pop up storms that won’t be too strong or last too long!

Tomorrow looks fantastic in general. We’ll be under the influence of the surface high pressure system, and we shouldn’t get any disturbance propagating through during the afternoon. This will prevent us from having any real chance at isolated storm activity. Look for highs in the afternoon to end up in the lower 80s. It should be a fantastic afternoon and evening for whatever summer events are going on, so enjoy it!

Thursday looks a bit more like today, with a weak disturbance moving through the region during the afternoon and evening, providing the lift necessary to get storms during the afternoon hours.

The 3km NAM is showing a nice disturbance moving into the region and giving us some issues this evening. h/t pivotalweather.com

Again, these storms look isolated in nature, so don’t expect a wash out anywhere. Expect highs on Thursday to end up in the mid 80s again! It really is beginning to feel more like summer, which is really nice.
