Well, how about that ride in!?

We’ve experienced, basically, non-stop rainfall from sunrise this morning until around 5pm this afternoon.  The main area of heaviest rainfall has shifted north of the region, with drier conditions taking over.

We’ve received ample rainfall over the course of the day, with total rainfall amounts ranging between ~.50-1.7″ across our coverage area (Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson, Warren County).  Data provided by the Kentucky Mesonet illustrates this nicely…

Although the heaviest swath of precipitation has shifted to our north, scattered shower and storm chances will continue through tonight and into Thursday morning.  It’s going to stay cool as well, with Thursday morning lows in the upper 40s/low 50s, and highs located between the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Provided is the latest HRRR simulated radar model (its an idea of what the radar will look like over the next 15 hours).  It thinks we’ll keep chances for the wet stuff around through at least 8AM Thursday.

You may experience small hail with this activity.  Don’t be alarmed.  Gradual clearing should take over by mid afternoon, and last throughout the overnight.

Friday will provide a period of dry, warmer, sunny conditions, with temperatures rebounding to around the 80˚ mark.  Scattered shower and storm chances may return Saturday, with a few being strong.  Nothing is written in stone, but we’re all over it like white on rice.  Stay tuned.
