Today – Mostly Sunny and Windy – High 72° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 51°
A tight pressure gradient from the departing low pressure system will keep the strong wind in the region today. Expect 15 – 25 mph winds with gusts up to 40 mph possible once again. Yesterday we saw some trees fall down across the region, the same will be possible today.

Northwest flow should continue to advect cooler, and drier air into the region. This will lead to a relatively pleasant day as highs should top out around 72° under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Partly cloudy skies will remain in place tonight as the low drops to around 51°.
Wednesday – Partly Cloudy with Showers Later – High 71° / Wed Night – Showers & Storms – Low 59°
Flow will transition to more southerly on Wednesday as an upper level trough begins to approach the region from the south. Divergence aloft and a moistening air mass will cause clouds to form during the afternoon hours. A few showers or storms may be possible in the evening hours, but not before temperatures top out in the low 70s.
Showers and thunderstorms should continue overnight with a chance of some scattered, embedded thunder as well. No severe weather is expected with this round of stormy weather. Overnight lows should drop to around 60°.
Thursday – Showers & Storms – High 64° / Thur Night – Showers Possible – Low 45°
Showers and storms will continue throughout the day on Thursday. A low pressure system should track right through the region. The exact track of the low pressure will be key in forecasting both temperatures and breaks in the rain. If the low tracks to the north and west of us, a break in precipitation may be possible around noon, as we’ll be placed in the small warm sector. However, if the low tracks right over us, or just south and east of us, we’ll likely see a cold rain all day.
As of now, I expect the first scenario to pan out. We’ll likely see a round of morning showers and storms associated with the warm front. Then, a brief break will be possible around noon, before another round approaches in the afternoon and evening along the cold front. Once again, no severe weather is expected at this time. Highs will be in the low to mid 60s. The WPC seems to agree with my forecast as well.
More showers and storms will be possible overnight associated with the cold front. This will knock back temperatures into the mid 40s.
