After two confirmed tornadoes and a flash flood emergency has been set for portions of Alabama, one person has been pronounced dead (in Florida) as strong storms continue to push across the Southeast this Monday evening.

SPC Convective Outlook – Severe threat continues to impact the Southeast as much of the Gulf Coast remains under an Enhanced and Slight Risk

Alabama

In Alabama, numerous wind and tornado reports have taken place this afternoon. Not to mention, Jackson, AL is currently under a Flash Flood Emergency.

Mississippi

Damage reports are continuing to come in after reports of a confirmed tornado swept across Mendenhall as well as a radar confirmed tornado near Mt. Olive. A tornado watch is in place until 8pm for Southeastern MS.

Louisiana

Reports of a possible tornado in Louisiana in LeCompte and through Avoyelles Parish. Like the other states being impacted, numerous wind and damage reports are still being assessed.

The severe threat for Alabama has since diminished as clearing from the west begins. Overnight, Florida and Georgia look to be getting the remainder of the strong storms as the system continues to make it’s way eastward.
