Forecast Discussion

Nice and cool weather will be in store for the first couple of days this week, however  widespread rain moves into the region on Wednesday. I’m not complaining about the rain chances, at all.

An upper level ridge will be inching toward the region throughout the day today. This will lead to overall warming temperatures under sunny skies. Highs will likely make it into the upper 40s, which is about what we saw yesterday as well. Overall, a nice, fall day is expected.

The ridge will move through during the overnight hours. However, a trough will begin to approach the area on Tuesday. This will put us in some southerly flow across the region. Thus, expect temperatures to increase under partly cloudy skies. The model average for highs tomorrow are around 55°, so we’ll stick with that.

During the overnight hours an extensive line of showers and thunderstorms will form to the west of the region. These showers will move into the region on Wednesday morning. Widespread showers should persist into the late morning and noon hours. However, isolated showers will still be possible throughout the day.

As the cold front drifts to the east overnight, some isolated showers are still possible, however chances will be decreasing. Lows will be around 42°.

Extended Outlook

The cold front pegged to move through the region on Wednesday night will be weakening. Thus, temperatures won’t be pushed back much at all the rest of the week. You can expect temperatures to be in the mid to upper 50s for highs on most days. Our next shot of rain looks to come around the 27th or 28th. Thus, dry conditions will continue after Wednesday.

That’s all I have this morning. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great day!
