It’s starting to look a lot like fall yall! Cooler temperatures paired with abundant sunshine is exactly what the doctor ordered if you’re asking me. Yesterday’s temperatures topped out at a cool, crisp 65°F after bouncing back from a low of 40°F, which is in fact right around average for this time of year. For any of you fans of fall out there, myself included, I think it’s safe to say we can finally wipe the dust off the hoodies and sweatshirts that we’ve been itching to bring out of the closet.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a 100% chance of awesome. High near 63°F. Overnight skies will remain clear with lows dropping to near 37°F.

Monday: Mostly clear with sunny skies. High near 62°F. Overnight, clear skies continue with lows bottoming out at 39°F.

Forecast Discussion
It sure seems like Bowling Green is in quite the lackluster weather pattern across the region in terms of weather-producing phenomena. However, if you’re anything like me, you’re totally diggin’ the cooler temperatures and sunshine, I mean what else could you ask for on a college football Saturday? Amirite??
Yesterday, a weak and, unfortunately, dry surface cold front swept through the region. This helped to usher in drier air from the northwest, locking us under ridge of high pressure extending southward from Canada.
WPC Surface Analysis (Weather Prediction Center)
This will prevent us from seeing much in the way of any cloud cover and will provide for a TON of sunshine this morning and into this afternoon. Even with the sunny skies, temperatures will have a hard time squeezing their way out of the middle and upper fifties for most of this afternoon.
While there aren’t any chances of rain in today’s forecast, we CAN expect a 100% chance of a TOUCHDOWN as WKU takes on North Texas today at The Houch! GO TOPS!!!
Kickoff is at 2:30PM and temperatures couldn’t look any more fantastic, sitting right around 56 degrees at the start of the game. However, it is definitely a good idea to keep those jackets and sweaters handy though, because as the sun sets, the temperatures will significantly fall into this evening as well.
Tonight, as those clear skies continue, that will allow for our temperatures dance around the mid-thirties. This will definitely set us up for a few areas of frost across the region, as we are now under a Freeze Warning from 10PM tonight until 9AM tomorrow morning. Take extra precaution in protecting those plants tonight and give yourself extra time to head out the door in the morning!
To cap off your weekend, we’ll see more of the same in terms of temperatures and sunny skies and for the start of your work week, as that high pressure continues to stick around a little while longer. High temperatures will be hanging out in the low to mid 60s with, you guessed it, plenty more sunshine and blue skies. Is it really possible to hate on fall?
Extended Outlook
As we look ahead, we’ll expect to see another dry week with cool temperatures as this dome of high pressure continues to dominate the weather pattern for our area. There is the possibility of a cold front that would push through our area by the end of the week, which could *potentially* bring us some very much needed rain our way.
