More Fall-like Bowling Green Weather on the Way

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

*checks calendar* It was September 22 yesterday, wasn’t it? Sure didn’t feel like it as a ridge remained parked over the region. That’s really about all that described yesterday…hot and humid. And it’s not going to change much in the short term. But the longer term? That looks like a much different story.

Forecast Discussion

Well. Not much to discuss tomorrow (I mean, other than the WKU football game!), things remain much as they have for the past few days: sunny, hot and slightly sticky.

Sunday looks to be about the same, the ridge not quite budging yet, with temperatures remaining in the upper-80s, close to 90º and the sun beating down and ugghhhhh!

But fear not! It’s all coming to an end very soon. A cold front approaches our area Sunday night into Monday morning, finally breaking up the most monotonous stretch of weather I can remember in some time.

This will give us a shot at a little bit of rain but the big story will be the cooldown heading through the rest of the new work week.

Along with a drop in temperatures comes the associated drop in humidity, giving our mornings that crisp, fall-like feel. And boy am I ready for it, if only to make that trek to class in the morning a tad less miserable.

I call it great weather, personally. (Giphy)

Extended Outlook

Things look decidedly more fall-like next week. Temperatures only reaching into the mid-70s to around 80º at the highest but dew points staying low, allowing our nighttime lows to creep towards that 50º mark, and keeping rain mainly out of sight for the rest of the week. In the longer-term, a stout trough looks to build into the region, a signal that these cooler temperatures will stick around a bit longer than last time.
