Forecast Discussion

One more really nice day is on tap for the region before more heat and humidity return to the region. Too bad that nice weather day is a Monday…bummer.

Surface high pressure has developed in the northeastern United States in response to a building mid-level ridge in the southern United States. Stable conditions will be seen throughout the region due to the ridge and high pressure. Thus, no rain or thunderstorms are expected. Today will be a rinse and repeat forecast of yesterday with slightly warmer temperatures.

On Tuesday, a weak area of low pressure near the Gulf of Mexico will begin to advect more moisture into the region. This will make conditions more muggy across the area as dew points once again rise into the 70s throughout the day. No rainfall is expected at this time. Highs will likely be in the upper 80s.

More moisture is expected across the region on Wednesday. This may allow for a few isolated showers and thunderstorms to form across the region. No severe weather is expected at this time. Again, storms should remain fairly isolated, meaning not everyone will receive rain. Highs will continue to be in the upper 80s, with dew points in the 70s.

Extended Outlook

Once again, above average temperatures are expect over the next 14 days, as well as above normal precipitation, per the Climate Prediction Center. This matches my thinking well because of the lack of any substantial cool downs in the longer term models. I guess we’ll just keep waiting for fall to arrive.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great Monday!
