Discussion

This forecast has been really pretty boring to make. I said that I was gonna do a forecast full of GIFs yesterday, but I actually am gonna do it today.

Yesterday was nice, but today is gonna end up being nicer quite honestly, and that is really awesome.

We deserved a break from some of heat we experienced during parts of last week, and though it wasn’t too hot, it was still pretty warm. Today, though, will be about as perfect as a June weather day can get. Look for highs to end up in the mid to upper 70s as we are still under the influence of a lifting trough moving to the east-northeast.

Overnight, the ridge to our west will begin to move in. Lows will bottom out in the mid 50s. During your day tomorrow, the ridge will begin to establish itself over our region more dominantly. This will allow for temps to really get a bit warmer.

Look for highs to end up in the mid 80s during your Thursday afternoon, with mostly sunny skies across the region. That’ll be another nice day.

Overnight on Thursday, skies will remain clear, with lows falling into the lower 60s. Friday is definitely looking hotter than the other two days in this forecast. This is both depressing, and expected.

I don’t want to lose the weather we’ll have today, but I do want my forecast to be correct, and I had this forecast/discussed on Sunday. Under partly cloudy skies, the temperatures across the region Friday afternoon will end up in the upper 80s and lower 90s, with more humid conditions develop as higher dewpoints return to the region.

Overnight, skies will stay partly cloudy, with lows in and around the mid 60s.

Extended Outlook

Well, the extended period looks a bit more interesting than the extended has looked in a bit.

It is looking fairly active, especially across the eastern and northeastern portions of the US beyond Saturday. Much of the model guidance is hinting at the idea that we may or may not begin to see more troughing across the eastern US. This could lead to more storminess and cooler temps. This isn’t set in stone; however, much of the model guidance is suggesting that at this time.
