Howdy, Bowling Green! I hope everyone is having a great day. I know the WKU students are sure enjoying spring break…and this warm weather! It’s nice not having to walk outside in a parka carrying a space heater.
A deep trough to our west has caused our region to be under an upper-level ridge for most of the week. Because of this ridging, we’ve seen above-normal temperatures and increased atmospheric moisture. We’re going to see some rain today, but the western portion of the state looks to see rain earlier than the rest of Kentucky. Our region could see some showers in the morning and early afternoon, but the bulk of the rain will occur tonight. The most intense rain looks to fall during the overnight hours.

As far as temperatures go, highs will be in the mid 70’s, and lows for the evening will be in the upper 50’s.
Friday – Chance t-storms – High 70˚ / Friday Night – Chance t-storms – Low 57˚
We look to be a bit drier on Friday, per the latest model runs. The front will move through Friday morning with higher pressure trying to fill in behind it. This will suppress the precipitation in the region. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s with scattered rain showers/possible thunderstorms.

The chance for rain will stick around for the evening hours. Lows for Friday night will be in the upper 50’s.
Saturday – Chance t-storms – High 76˚ / Saturday Night – Showers Likely – Low 60˚
Unfortunately, we just can’t get rid of this rain even for the weekend. We look to remain wet again due to several waves of showers moving into the region Friday night into Saturday. Impulses out ahead of an approaching upper-level low are causing these waves of showers.
It’s going to be rainy with the possibility of some thunderstorms over the next few days. So, I would definitely keep that umbrella and rain jacket handy!
