Beautiful Bowling Green Weather in Store!

Today 2/27 – Sunny – High 61° / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 33°

Lows this morning were in the mid to upper 20s across the region. However, this cold start will give way to a beautiful Saturday! Surface to mid level ridging from the Gulf of Mexico will bring stable air into the region. This will promote sunny skies for nearly the entire day. Southerly winds will bring in the warmer surface temperatures as we get to around 61° during the afternoon hours.

Expect those mostly clear conditions to stick around during the overnight hours. Lack of cloud cover will allow lows to drop to around 33°.

Sunday 2/28 – Mostly Sunny;Windy – High 71° / Sun Night – Isolated Showers – Low 44°

A weak trough will begin to move into the region on Sunday. This will bring southwest flow to the region. This trough will spawn an area of low pressure around the Great Lakes region, placing us in the warm sector. This means we can expect strong southerly winds throughout the day on Sunday.

This also means a big warm-up is in store for Bowling Green weather. Because models underestimate the power of southwest flow, I’ve bumped up temperatures to around 71°. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if temperatures got warmer than this!

A weak cold front will approach the region during the evening hours. For the most part, this cold front is pretty moisture starved. However, a few isolated showers will still be possible as it passes. Lows will be in the mid 40s.

Monday 2/29 – Mostly Clear – High 60° / Mon Night – Showers Possible – Low 49°

Stable air will begin to filter back into the region on Monday. This will lead to mostly clear skies once again. Southerly surface winds due to high pressure located to the south of the region will lead to highs right around 60° across the area. Overall, another nice day is on tap.

Monday night, a shortwave will begin to move into the region from the south. While this disturbance is rather subtle (pictured below), it will overspread the region with some showers. Lows will be just shy of 50°. Another disturbance takes aim on the region Tuesday, which could lead to some heavy rain, but more on that in later forecasts.
