Christmas Day Forecast

Real-time Bowling Green radar:

Today 12/25 – Cloudy & Rainy – High 64/Tonight – Cloudy with rain showers – Low 60

Merry Christmas, Bowling Green! It’ll be far from a white Christmas and will feel more like a rainy spring day today. An upper-level ridge is keeping temperatures warm as the colder air is trapped up north. A surface low pressure will be making its way across the area today giving us overcast skies and scattered showers.

Surface analysis valid 6am Friday (NOAA)

If you’re out and about today, be sure to have a rain jacket or umbrella with you to keep those presents dry! Get used to this rain too, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Saturday 12/26 – Cloudy & Rainy – High 74/ Saturday Night – Cloudy; chance scat’d showers – Low 65

To continue with our rinse and repeat forecast, Saturday will be affected by a warm front bringing moisture and warm air up from the south. This means even more rain! Yay (not really). High temperatures will be very much above normal and rainfall amounts will only continue to increase. QPFs are showing our region getting close to 2 inches of rain over the weekend.

Precip forecast through Sunday afternoon (NOAA)

Showers will stick around for Saturday night and will continue into the day Sunday. Try not to get washed away this weekend.

Sunday 12/27 – Cloudy & Rainy – High 67/Sunday Night – Cloudy with rain showers – Low 46

Temperatures will be on the decrease, slowly, starting Sunday. The slow moving frontal system  will finally start to move out bringing cooler temps to the region, but back-to-back low pressure systems will be on the way to keep the rain around.

Simulated radar valid 6am Sunday (Pivotal Weather)

Until then, expect lots and lots of rain and spring-like weather. I have started to see tulips and daffodils blooming and thought I was going crazy. The weather has everything messed up.
