More Rain in Store for Bowling Green

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Sunday, 11/29 – Rain Showers – High 54˚ / Tonight – Rain Likely – Low 49˚

Good morning, Bowling Green! My post here today will be pretty repetitive and overall “blah”.

While we were graced with a pleasant holiday, this weekend has not been so nice. As a cold front stalls out in southern Kentucky, overcast skies and rain showers will continue to stick around. This will make students’ commutes back to WKU not so welcoming after a nice break at home.

Temperatures today will not increase much from the overnight low, due to the lingering presence of clouds and rain. Highs will reach the mid-50s this afternoon with lows in the upper-40s tonight. Rain chances will continue into the overnight hours.

Monday, 11/30 – Periods of Rain – High 61˚ / Monday Night – Rain Likely – Low 53˚

Even if you normally start the week with a positive outlook, I think everybody will have a case of the Mondays this week. First day back to school and work for most of us after Thanksgiving break, on top of lingering rain showers and overcast skies… I’m yawning just thinking about it.

But since it is the last week of classes for students at WKU before semester finals, it is time to kick it into high gear. So grab that umbrella and rain boots – it’s go time.

By Monday, an upper-level low and a system at the surface will move eastward towards our area. An associated warm front will cause winds to become southerly in the morning, with an increase in temperatures throughout the day. Interestingly enough, the warm front will really kick into high gear overnight, after a slight decrease in temperatures.

Overall, Monday looks like a warmer-than-normal day with rain continuing to persist across Bowling Green.

Tuesday, 12/1 – Rain Showers – High 57˚ / Tuesday Night – Rain Chances Ending – Low 39˚

The beginning of December will feel very much like the end of November. But if you can handle just one more day of this, I promise it will get better! So yes, rain. Again. Starting to feel like we’re over in England? Because I spent a semester overseas and this weather is beginning to make me nostalgic.

A cold front will kick up some showers, with a possibility of a few rumbles of thunder, on Tuesday before moving eastward as the day progresses. Models are currently showing the heaviest rain occurring in the morning with most of it clearing out by dinner time. Temperatures will still make it into the upper-50s early before the front swings through.

Rain chances will diminish Tuesday night with lows in the upper-30s. Cooler temperatures are in store for the rest of the week, but at least we will finally see a break in the rain! So hang in there.
