The Western Kentucky University and Florida International University football game was plagued with lightning delays. One such delay occurred during halftime, with another occurring with 5 minutes and 3 seconds left in the game. The game was eventually called as both head coaches and both athletic directors agreed to call the game with 5 minutes and 3 seconds remaining on the clock. Zach Greenwell’s twitter feed was an emotional roller coaster ride during the entire process. Check it out below. Kudos for spelling “lightning” correctly.

Word up here is that a Conference USA game can’t be called, but don’t know if that’s true. Jeff Brohm still on the field. — Zach Greenwell (@zach_greenwell) November 21, 2015
#WKU radio says everyone wants the game to be over, officials on the phone with C-USA commissioner.

#WKU radio said both coaches and ADs have agreed to end this. Just need permission from conference. — Zach Greenwell (@zach_greenwell) November 21, 2015
Brohm and Todd Stewart headed back to #WKU locker room. Sounds like five minutes until the all-clear.

The game inevitably effected the Vegas gambling business, as the game was not allowed to count due to the amount of time left on the clock. WKU won 63-7.
Western Kentucky beat Florida Int’l 63-7…but the ViewFromVegas is the game didn’t go 55 minutes (canceled w/ 5:03 left) & is “no-action”
