Quite a bit of rainfall is forecast west of Bowling Green over the next few days. This has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Watch for counties in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
Low to mid-level winds will be out of the south. This will provide adequate moisture transport from the Gulf of Mexico to the aforementioned regions. The effect will be several rounds of rainfall over the next several days.
All in all, the Weather Prediction Center is forecasting up to 5″ of rain in some portions northern Arkansas and southern Missouri through Thursday evening.
