Cooler Weather This Weekend

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today 11/6 – Overcast; scat’d showers & storms – High 74/Tonight – Mostly cloudy – Low 50

Good morning, Bowling Green! If you are like me and want the cooler air to return, then get ready because it’s on its way. A cold front will be passing through the region today bringing chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Most of Kentucky is in a Marginal Risk for storms which means some storms could have heavy wind gusts and lightning.

NAM Simulated Radar valid Friday 6am (owxdata)

The cold front should be past Bowling Green by this afternoon and chances still remain for an occasional rain shower; however, things should clear up significantly for the WKU Homecoming Parade.

Saturday 11/7 – Mostly sunny – High 58/Saturday Night – Clear – Low 37

High pressure will move in behind the cold front for the rest of the weekend, making for a gorgeous Saturday. Northerly winds will filter cool, Canadian air into the region and bring high temperatures much closer to the November average.

Surface temperatures valid Saturday 3pm (owxdata)

If you don’t have any plans for Saturday, I’d suggest making your way out to the WKU Homecoming Game against Florida Atlantic. You couldn’t ask for better football weather – I’ll definitely be there.

Sunday 11/8 – Sunny & Cool – High 57/Sunday Night – Partly cloudy – Low 42

The high pressure system will be centered right over Kentucky Sunday morning keeping skies sunny and temperatures cool at least for another day.

Surface analysis valid Sunday 9am (owxdata)

Rain chances look to increase overnight Sunday into Monday as a low pressure system in the south brushes past Kentucky. In the meantime, enjoy this gorgeous cool weather and have a great weekend!
