Flood Potential Tonight Into Thursday

*Flash Flood Watch in effect for all of south central Kentucky through 1AM Friday*

A stationary front is currently laid out west to east across Tennessee, allowing lobes of moisture rich energy to roll along it.  This has resulted in scattered showers & storms pestering the viewing area today, which is expected to continue into this evening.

As moisture continues to increase over the area, the front will lift north, situating itself over Kentucky.  Rain coverage is expected to expand as a result, with torrential rainfall a concern.

This pattern is expected to continue through the majority of our Thursday, bringing a flooding threat along with it. A Flash Flood Watch will remain in effect for all of south central Kentucky until 1AM Friday.

Remain alert through this time.  Total rainfall amounts for the majority of us is expected to range between 1-2″, with localized areas potentially seeing as much as 3-4″.  We don’t want you to end up like this guy…

Rain chances will taper off late Thursday night, with plentiful amounts of sunshine returning Friday through Sunday.  Temperatures will gradually rise, making their way back into the low 90s by Sunday afternoon.
