Real Time BG Radar
Today 7/17 – Chance of AM Scat’d Showers; Sunny & HOT – High 95 – (Heat Index: 100)/Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 77
Good Morning! I hate to break it to you, but this forecast is going to make you sweat. Literally. The upper-level ridge that has been in place the last few days is really creating a heat dome over the area. A low pressure system to the north could cause enough of a disturbance to create some scattered rain showers this morning.
Today will be very hot with temperatures reaching into the mid 90s and the heat index breaking 100 degrees. Dewpoints will be in the mid 70s, so prepare for a sticky day.
Remember that when outside during these conditions, take extra precaution to stay cool and hydrated!
Saturday 7/18 – Sunny; HOT – High 95 (Heat Index: >100)/Saturday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 76
It looks like most of the weekend will consist of this unbearable heat. With temperatures reaching the upper 90s in some regions and dewpoints nearing 80 degrees, the heat index will likely be over 100 degrees on Saturday which can make for some dangerous situations if outside for long periods of time.
Skies should remain clear for Saturday, but a pop-up thunderstorm cannot be ruled out due to much instability in the atmosphere.
Don’t forget your pets and animals on days like these – they need water too!
Sunday 7/19 – Sunny; HOT – High 95/Sunday Night – Partly Cloudy; Chance of scat’d showers – Low 76
Not much will change for Sunday. Expect high temperatures in the upper 90s and sunny skies as high pressure camps out over the region for a while. Pop-up thunderstorms are also possible.
Another incoming low pressure system could result in some scattered showers Sunday night, otherwise it looks to be pretty dry.
Stay cool this weekend!
