Storminess Gives Way To Warmth And Sun

Real-time radar:

Today: Partly Sunny, Scat’d Storms (Potentially Severe). High of 90ºF. Tonight: Storms early, followed by clearing skies. Low of 69ºF.

Phew, yesterday was crazy (especially where I was at near Lexington). I just feel like yesterday was just a bunch of craziness, and by the end of the day, I just wanted to go to sleep.

It was tiring, that is for sure. Anyways, today looks pretty stormy, if you can believe that. The same system that attempted to impact us yesterday is setting its sights on us again today. Our area was salvaged through Monday, while those just east of us in Adair, Green and Taylor counties suffered from significant damage and flooding.

Depending on how the precip goes the rest of this morning, we should be able to become unstable enough to provide a very favorable atmosphere for severe thunderstorm development. For this reason, the SPC has us in a Enhanced Risk for severe storms this afternoon and evening:

Outside of any storms, it is looking very hot again. With highs approaching the lower 90s, combined with dewpoints in the mid 70s, it is gonna be a scorcher! Heat index values will range between 100-105˚!

This is what will set the atmosphere for the possibility for afternoon/evening storms. At this time, the highest threats look to be damaging winds, large hail and flooding. A secondary concern will be the possibility of a tornado developing.

Be alert as you head throughout your day. Overnight, skies look to clear out, giving way to lows in the lower 70s.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. High of 86ºF. Wed. night: Mostly clear. Low of 68ºF.

A break from storminess? What is this? I mean, I feel like we have had storms in the forecast every single day since the beginning of time.

Wednesday doesn’t look like one of those days. It looks nice. Nice enough to go fishing all day (which I am going to do)! Things look great behind the system that brought us all the severe weather the past couple days. We’ll see mostly sunny skies, with highs running up into the mid 80s.

Better prepare yourselves, because that might just feel like an ice age. Its gonna be nice. It’ll still be pretty humid, but even a drop in the temps makes a big difference.

Overnight, look for skies to stay pretty clear, with lows falling into the upper 60s.

Thursday: Wednesday 2.0. Warm, and sunny. High around 90ºF. Thur. night: Partly cloudy, with a low of 74ºF.

Well, with a similar pattern moving in and settling across the region, it is looking like we will see two solid days in a row. Not one, but two. Name me the last time that happened!

Oh well. The day itself looks awesome, but pretty hot out. Highs will reach the 90s again, with pretty muggy conditions. This has me like….
