Borderline Hot Bowling Green Weather

Today 5/7 – Partly Cloudy; Hot – High 87° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 60°

An upper level ridge will remain in place across the region throughout the day today. This will provide us with some southerly upper level flow, as well as southerly flow at the surface. This will help continue our streak of hot weather as we’ll see highs top out around 87° under partly cloudy skies.

Partly cloudy skies will remain possible into the overnight hours with lows dropping to around 60°.

Friday 5/8 – Partly Cloudy; Hot – High 88° / Fri Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 66°

We’ll remain under the influence of a strong ridge on Friday. However, an upper level trough will move closer to the region from the west. This will spread more warm temperatures and moisture into the region. However, lack of a lifting mechanism will likely keep skies at partly cloudy and a high around 88°. Time for a pool day?

More clouds will begin to move into the region on Friday night. This will help keep temperatures mild overnight with a low around 66°.

Saturday 5/9 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 84° / Sat Night – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 68°

Saturday will bring us our first chance of precipitation in quite some time. Upper level convergence will combine with weak low level flow in a moist atmosphere to produce sufficient ingredients for a few thunderstorms to form. Current thinking is that a weakening line of storms may move into the region in the afternoon hours. This is not expected to be severe. Highs will be in the mid 80s. Here’s what the NAM model thinks about the weakening line of storms around 7 PM.

Additional isolated thunderstorms may form in the evening and overnight hours. Lows will remain mild in the upper 60s.
