This Weekend’s Weather Will Be Like Coffee

Today: The “good” coffee day. Partly to mostly cloudy, with a high of 80ºF. Tonight: Bad coffee begins. Clouds and rain increasing across the area. Low of 64ºF.

Just as a preface to this post, I love coffee. And when deciding how to come up with an analogy for this weekend, what better way to describe a weekend’s weather than comparing it to coffee?

Think of weather weekends as if they are one large cup of joe, and it can go from good to bad real quick.

Now you may think this is a stretch, but follow me. Today is gonna be like a great cup of joe. Whether it has cream and sugar or a regular cup of black coffee, it is refreshing and nice. There will be a mix of sun and clouds today, and this will be a nice flavor break from the blandness we’ve had this past week.

With the breaks in clouds, we should see temps rise into the upper 70s and lower 80s across the region. Perfect for some iced coffee!

As we head into the overnight hours, though, this weekend’s coffee begins to get old and nasty real fast. Clouds increase across the region ahead of the next low pressure system. This will be accompanied by showers and thunderstorms. Lows will bottom out in the mid 60s.

Tomorrow: Bad coffee-like. Rain and storms. High of 74ºF. Tomorrow night: Mediocre coffee returns. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 57ºF.

Well, the coffee that leaves a bad taste in your mouth looks as if it will be the common cup tomorrow. Expect conditions to be nasty, with highs approaching 75 at the max, and showers and storms across the area. The SPC has the area highlighted in a slight risk for severe weather during the day:

This will be in association with a low passing just to our west, and then to our north. Winds will be pretty gusty across the area Sunday as well, so watch for that too.

As we head into the overnight hours, the precip should clear with the cold front, leaving us with cooling conditions and lows in the mid 50s.

Monday: Cooler, but better coffee. Gradual clearing, with highs around 64ºF. Mon. night: Partly cloudy. Low of 45ºF.

It only makes sense that we start off the work week with a much better cup of Joe. Clouds will be decreasing throughout the day on Monday, and this will create for a good cup of weather coffee.

Highs should top out in the mid 60s across the region as cooler air settles in behind the cold front. As we head into the overnight hours on Monday, the nice conditions will continue as temps fall into the mid 40s under partly cloudy skies.
