So Long Good Bowling Green Weather

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 1/22 – Mostly Cloudy – High 44° / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Isolated Light Rain – Low 31°

It looks like our string of great weather days has come to an end. Today, we’ll be stuck with mostly cloudy skies through much of the day. The clouds are building in in response to a trough moving into the region from the west. Highs will struggle to reach 45°. So long good weather, you will be missed…

Tonight will continue with mostly cloudy skies. However, the trough should eject enough moisture into the region to produce a few light rain showers during the evening and overnight. With temperatures dropping just below freezing, some slick spots may be possible late tonight.

Friday 1/23 – Rain Showers – High 38° / Fri Night – Rain/Snow Showers – Low 29°

Be on the lookout for some slick spots from tonight’s light rain on Friday morning. However, temperatures should rise above freezing in the early morning hours. Thus, what icing that did occur should melt fairly quickly.

Rain showers will be likely through much of the day on Friday as moisture is advected into the region from a low pressure system to the south. Highs will be just under 40°. Simulated radar model below shows widespread rain showers across the area at 3pm Friday afternoon.

Rain showers should eventually transition to snow showers during the evening hours. At the time of this writing, it appears that a fairly light snow event may unfold on Friday night. I still think it’s a bit too soon to make any promising call on accumulations, because the models have been fluctuating quite a bit.

I will say that as of now, Bowling Green and surrounding areas have the chance at seeing very minor accumulations, if anything at all. Remember… don’t forget about the 3 H’s…

Saturday 1/24 – Partly Cloudy – High 45° / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 31°

Snow showers should come to an end on Saturday as the low pressure system moves well to the east of the region. High pressure will settle back in, decreasing cloud cover. Expect partly cloudy skies with a high around 45°.

Saturday night will bring partly cloudy skies once more with lows just under freezing.
