Sunday’s Bowling Green Weather

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 12/28 – Mostly Cloudy; Showers Likely – High 45°↓ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 34°

A surface cold front will be draped across the region, or just to the east of the region most of the day today. Weak areas of low pressure may develop along this cold front, leading to more shear in the area. This shear will promote lift, which will help keep the region under mostly cloudy skies with rainy conditions. Temperatures will likely fall throughout the day, but temperatures may increase back into the low 40s during the afternoon.

As the cold front continues to move to the east of the region, we should begin to dry out some. Partly cloudy skies seem reasonable overnight with a low around 34°.

Monday 12/29 – Mostly Cloudy – High 43° / Mon Night – Mostly Cloudy; Isolated Showers – Low 30°

We’ll be in between systems on Monday. Thus, the clouds seem to stick around through much of the day as the entire United States is under the influence of a broad, longwave trough. Afternoon highs will once again be around 43°.

A disturbance will rotate through the trough during the late evening hours. This will keep the mostly cloudy skies in place, as well as create an opportunity for some isolated showers to develop. A few snowflakes may mix in from time to time as the temperature drops to around 30°.

Tuesday 12/30 – Mostly Cloudy; Isolated Rain/Snow Showers – High 40° / Tue Night – Mostly Clear – Low 25°

On Tuesday, the aforementioned disturbance will spin off a weak surface low to the south of the region. This will create overrunning precipitation to start the day on Tuesday. This will be in the form of some rain, and periodically, snow showers. Most of these may occur east of I-65. No accumulations are expected at this time. A high of 40° can be expected. No measurable snow yet again…

High pressure should settle into the region on Tuesday night. The center of high pressure will be situated well to the west of the region, but the high is so strong, that it should clear things out across our area. Mostly clear skies can be expected overnight with lows in the mid 20s.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great Sunday!
