We’re currently under the influence of strong southwesterly flow. This will help catapult temperatures into the mid 60s this afternoon.  Due to clouds & swift, southwesterly breezes of 15-30 mph, it may feel a wee bit cooler than actual temp readings.  Have a look at the model above for a better understanding of what’s taking place today.

Taking in the fact that a cold front will be tracking toward us as the day progresses, scattered showers will be possible late this afternoon and evening. The rain should be light, and ‘nothing to shake a stick at.’

Overnight, the cold front will continue to cut a slow, southeastward path toward our proximity. Moisture will increase across the region as a result, ahead of the front that will be working into the area.

An increase in rain coverage should result by late tonight. Cloudiness should inhibit temperatures from tumbling much from Today’s high…lows should steadily hold in the low 50s.

Mon – Mostly Cloudy, Scat’d Showers – High ~52º / Mon Night – Evening Rain/Snow Showers – Low ~32º

Monday will be an interesting, not-so-pleasant weather day.  Temps will fall throughout (into the upper 30s by mid afternoon), and we won’t even really be awake for our daytime high.

Monday’s high will likely be tonight’s low due to the passage of the cold front. As it comes into the area, precipitation is anticipated to be on the increase across the area.  In other words, umbrellas will be a necessity during the day on Monday.  And, of course…

The NAM 4km simulated radar model below is valid for 6am Sunday morning.  It thinks we’ll be wet…

As we head into Monday evening, our weather conditions will continue to deteriorate. Due to this strong push of cold air, we are looking at a situation that could have a rain to snow transition Monday evening.

It looks like we could have precipitation falling across the area as temps continue to plummet.  With that being said, temps will need to fall into the low – mid 30s for us to even have a legit shot seeing any flakes.

I’m not too sure we get cold enough at all layers before the moisture clears out to have snowfall.  We’ll have to wait and see, as this will be a fun one to watch.

Our Tuesday will see lingering rain chances, as highs are held to the mid 40s.  A warmup returns by midweek, as temps return to near 60 degrees.  Rain chances increase Wednesday & Thursday.

That’ll wrap up the Sunday update.  As always, follow along with @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX for the latest weather information across south central Kentucky.
